A whole field of soybeans, the most important agricultural crop in the Amur Region, was divided into ten experimental plots near Tolstovka to conduct experiments. Here, experts check how "smart chemicals" (herbicides) helps to control Amur weeds. "Our primary need is to determine which herbicides are most suitable for the Amur Region", noted Evgeny Trofimov, General Director of "Target Agro" LLC.

- The way climatic conditions, temperature differences affect them.

Correspondents of "Amurskaya Pravda" also watched the beginning of the unusual experiment.

The specialists made ten plots, which were treated with tank mixtures of different herbicides.

- We try to determine the best option for the Amur farmers so that both to control weeds while securing the soybeans from harm, - said Evgeny Viktorovich. - We test herbicides mainly of our main supplier - the Russian company "Zemlyakoff". This company produces about 70 percent of the herbicides we supply to local farmers. The undoubted advantages of these chemical products are their high efficiency and affordability. This year we sold herbicides for more than 100 million and covered over one hundred thousand hectares of Amur fields.

No chemicals - no harvest.

In the Amur Region, like any other agricultural region, there is a lot of weediness in the fields. The most relevant issue for the Amur farmers is the control of pigweed, wormwood, wheatgrass, annual and perennial grasses.

- Of course, it is possible to control weeds in old-fashioned methods, by weeding, - the experts smile. - That was the way they did it before. Farmers used the so-called technical weeding when the tractor moved between the rows and lifted part of the land. Some weeds, of course, were destroyed, but soybeans also suffered. The loss of yields from such weeding was up to 30 percent. Currently, the most effective way to control weeds is through the use of herbicides. Today, any other methods are almost not used. Farmers are quite progressive now, keeping up with new products, attending seminars.

By the way, at the end of the unusual experiment (in late July or early August), the "Target Agro" team will hold a seminar for Amur farmers right on the experimental field.

- Using an example, we will show how herbicides work, - the General Director of the company shared his plans. - We will invite both our regular customers and potential ones. We will show them the state of the field before the chemical treatment, and what it looks like afterward. We'll see, using actual examples, how herbicides work. We'll also establish a control plot, with no chemical treatment at all. Trust me, the difference will be obvious. Our company also conducts educational work. We not only introduce new products to farmers but also tell when it is better to use herbicides, how to choose the right dosage. Not all Amur farmers have a special professional agricultural education, so this kind of work will be quite useful. The higher the yields of the farmers, the more clients we will have. Everyone will benefit.

Weeds destroyed.

On a test field of 40 hectares, some soybean plots were already treated with herbicides a few days ago.

“It can be seen that the soybeans are a little sick, but in two days it will return to normal, and the weeds have almost completely disappeared now, - demonstrates Yegor Norko, agronomist of the ANK Agrofirm. - The advantage of the use of herbicides is that they can work both with one type of weed and with several. This year there is a wider range of "Zelyakoff" company product lines - there is plenty to choose from. Therefore, we decided to visually demonstrate to farmers how herbicides work.

The difference between the test plots, indeed, is visible even to the naked eye.

"If we look at a site outside the treatment border, we will see the land there covered with grass," - continues the agronomist. - Of course, soybean also got a little harm. But it will already be restored in two days since we see that the growing point is intact, the soybeans are putting forth new leaves. As a specialist, I must say that the results are very good.

Herbicides now, payment later.

The "Target Agro" team is confident, that Amur farmers will appreciate not only the effectiveness of the use of modern herbicides - "smart chemistry", but also a flexible payment system.

"We supply 90 percent of herbicides to Amur farmers on credit, against the future harvest," - explained Evgeny Trofimov. - They make payment after harvesting, and not only money payment is available for them, but also payment with soy. Our company is engaged in the processing and sale of this culture. Therefore, purchasing herbicides from us is not only profitable but also convenient. Our clients do not need to search for buyers, to sell crops quickly and, as it often happens, not at the best prices. It is very important for us that the Amur farmers obtain good yields.

Moreover, the beginning of the agricultural year in the Amur Region promises a good harvest of soybeans.

- In the beginning, there was a slight drought, which is not very good, but currently, the weather is rainy. I do not think that we will break records, but there will definitely be a decent harvest of soybeans, experts say. - According to statistics, the second year after the flood is usually very good in terms of yields. Moreover, herbicides will help to control weeds, and the weather conditions should be quite favorable.
